Data Sources
StatMap does not create geographic data. We aggregate it from open, publicly licensed sources. Below is every source we use, what we use it for, and the licence it is published under.
Licence
Open Database Licence (ODbL) 1.0Used for
Road networks, place names, points of interest, administrative boundaries, and map tiles.
Used for
Official cantonal and municipal boundaries, elevation models, and topographic reference data.
Used for
Population figures, municipality codes (BFS-Nr), area statistics, and language regions.
Used for
Postcode (PLZ) to municipality and canton mapping.
Attribution and licence compliance
Where a data licence requires attribution, we display it on the relevant pages and in this list. If you reuse data found on StatMap, you must comply with the licence of the original source, not just StatMap's terms. When in doubt, go to the source directly using the links above.
