2. What StatMap is

StatMap is a free, read-only geographic reference for Switzerland. It brings together publicly available data and presents it for informational purposes only. StatMap is not an official government service and has no legal authority over any geographic information it displays.

3. Data accuracy

We try hard to keep the data accurate, but we cannot guarantee that every figure is complete, current, or error-free. Geographic boundaries, administrative details, and statistical numbers come from third-party sources and may lag behind official updates. Please do not rely on StatMap for legal, planning, or safety-critical decisions. For authoritative information, use official Swiss federal and cantonal sources directly.

4. Intellectual property

The StatMap name, logo, and original website design are the property of the project operator. The underlying geographic data is subject to the licences of its original sources (OpenStreetMap ODbL, swisstopo open licence, BFS open licence). You are welcome to link to StatMap pages. Scraping or reproducing large portions of the site's content without attributing the original data sources is not permitted.

5. No API or programmatic access

StatMap does not offer a public API. Automated or high-volume requests that place excessive load on our servers are not allowed. If you need programmatic access to Swiss geographic data, the original providers on our data-sources page are the right place to go.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

StatMap is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. We make no representations about the suitability, reliability, availability, or accuracy of the information for any particular purpose.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the StatMap project operator is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website or the information it contains.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Swiss courts.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised. Continued use of StatMap after changes means you accept the revised terms.
